Serenity

This sound is just ambiance, but it seemed like I should include at least a bit of ambiance just to set the mood. But in case this sound isn't interesting enough for you, be reassured in the fact that there might have been a dinosaur fighting a giant robot in the distance. Unfortunately, the fierce clangs and roars were in theory too faint to be picked up by my mics. To record this sound (not the battle, the ambiance) I held onto the mics and hoisted them up as high as I could hold them, because it honestly just captured richer sounds.

Plane Overhead

This sound clip is very interesting because, if you listen very closely to the first few seconds, you can still not hear the decaying log I'm sitting on when I recorded it. It is also interesting because a plane passed overhead, and since I wasn't sure that the mics would pick up the sonic differences as it moved from right to left, I tried to simulate it by moving the mics closer and further away from the sky. It seems to have worked, but who knows.

Cars and Crickets

I have my own reasons for thinking this sound is pretty neato, but I won't spoil it for you. I'm sure you, the audiophile, can figure out on your own why I included this entry. And if not, I've failed at not only being an artiste, but also being a friend. And a husband. And a daughter. Although one could argue I've failed at being a husband and a daughter for most of my life.

Chk chk caaaw

Yes, I do use the onomatopoeia "Chk chk caaaaw" when describing the sounds chickens make. No, I am not ashamed of this fact. I think it actually sounds pretty close. Go ahead, say "chk chk caaaaw". You'll be surprised how much you sound like a chicken. Or are ridiculed by people sitting around you.

Wind

So I started off with some ambiance, why not finish with it. Ambiance is the grooviest type of sound. It has so many uses: 1.video game soundscapes, 2. film soundscapes, 3. tapes to help you fall asleep, the list goes on and on! Well, no, it pretty much stops there, but I'm sure people can invent new uses of ambient sound. Like at birthday parties.
"Let's sing Billy the birthday ambiance!"
"Yaaaay!"
"Haaaaaaapyyyyyy swwwwwsssssssshhhhhhhhhchirpchirpsssswwwwwwwwwsssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh"
